@ Steena: I'm just studying it for fun. I study in Greifswald so Sweden is quite near.. It just fits. And I would like to work there later. They have such a good schoolsystem..

I learned Hindi, too. But this was just a 3-weeks-course at the university of Hamburg. But it was fun. This grammar is soo different from any other i know.. It was quite difficult at the beginning but we had a very good teacher who is a native speaker. He teached us also much about his home country and gave us many hints where we could sleep for less money and so on.. Smily "top"

I would like to, but i haven't found an adult evening class which would give courses in that. I just have practised a little bit when i had a lab in a school for handicapped pupils.. It was hard for me to learn and i can't remember much..

Can you speak it?

@ Lajojji: Yeah, for me it was very interesting to see, that the handicapped pupils in the school weren't treated different from the "normal" pupils. They had even a few classes together and often the handicapped pupils have done better than the others! I liked it, when i was with them. They really tried to teach me the sign language but sadly i must confess that i can't remember anything.. Smily "echtanonym"

We talked about that in the London Thread. Yeah, there are loads of Indian shops in London and Southall is probably the best place to go though it's not really IN London. Southall is more a suburb of London about 15 min away from Paddington Station.
There you can find Indian food, clothing (beautiful sarees!!), jewellery, DVDs, Soundtracks.....I like going there when in London.

Anyway, a question to all of you: did you learn English only in school because you had to or are you interested in learning it anyway for different reasons?
